collaborative debugging tool.

Pastebin is a really cool idea, it’s all in the title, pastebin is for collaborative debugging, shown to me by some folks on the Ubuntu Pennsylvania Team IRC channel, that I really figured I should share with you.

Collaborative debugging really means fixing up source code, scripts, or even a piece for your 10th grade honors English, (lets use that just so we don’t get confused) as a group, and allows for you to revise infinitely.

Here’s kinda the idea. Someone will post up their piece, then they’ll send the link to their friend who’s helping them edit it, the person who gets the link, goes on the page and can make any edits they want in a textbox at the bottom then they hit send, and it’s and updated page.

What actually caused me to write this tonight, was me having to work on my friend with some Just BASIC code. It was all fun and games till the program got much to long to keep posting on AIM.

It really works, I know because I used it tonight, not just a cool idea (because there are alot of those) but one that I can honestly tell you is a real help.  We’d be debugging and all we have to do is send links back and forth. it even has Syntax Highlighting for a bunch of languages!

using syntax highlighting for a simple program

If I haven’t convinced you already, you should not that you can keep pages on there indefinetly, and even use a seprate subdomain completely simple and free! Just try any subdomain you want and you can use it.

Pastebin is Efficient, Easy, Fun, and best of all is free!

Apart from that the software is under the GPL and you can download the source code

Wow, this sounds really interesting. I’m still a little confused about it (still checking out the website).

You should talk some more about this.

    Great blog, keep it up!
